Congratulations to Mike Vose. He rode on the slender yet beautiful shoulders of Rory McIlroy to victory. Rory shot a -8 on the day and none of his other top 5 shot worse than a +1. Real strong finish for Mike as he finished the tourney at -7. By my calculations, he is taking home $1,200. Coming in second place is Ryan Burrill who finished with a -9. Burrill had 2 solid picks with Im and Conners, and his other 3 golfers were able to avoid disaster as nobody finished higher than +6 on his team. Ryan is taking home $300. Tough luck to Andrew, who finished just 1 stroke out of the money. Also kudos to Steve who quietly threatened the leaders with a -16. Well played by all and I’m looking forward to doing this again next year.

Rules

  • Welcome to the Masters Pool. You play by selecting 7 golfers and their performances on the course will determine how well your team does.

  • You must select 7 golfers, but you cannot just choose any 7 that you want. The golfers are separated into 5 buckets. You must choose 1 golfer from buckets 1, 2 and 3. You then select 2 golfers from buckets 4 and 5. This will leave you with your 7 man team. See the section on bottomr of this page for all the eligible golfers and what bucket they are in

  • You can submit your team in two ways. There is a google spreadsheet that you can access and you can input your team yourself. You can also text your team to either Mike Deveau or Mark Downing and they will input the team into the spreadsheet for you. You may need permission to access the document but we can grant it if needed. The link to the google spreadsheet is below this section

  • The scoring is simple. We will add up the scores of your 5 best golfers and the total will determine the winner. This is golf, so obviously the lowest score wins.

If you have more than 2 golfers miss the cut, you will receive the score of the worst golfer selected in the pool that made the cut.

  • You can track the pool standings on this page or on the google spreadsheet. The sheet is linked to this page and this site will be linked on the google sheet as well. This will update nightly after the round is completed by all golfers.

  • The tie-breaker is the team with the player in the highest finishing position. If that is tied it will go to 2nd highest position and then 3rd and so on. If 2 people have the same winning team than the pot will be split. If they tie for first place, they will split 100% of the pot, but if they tie for second place they will split 20% of the pot

  • $100 per team. Venmo Mike at michael-deveau-1. This is a pretty quick event, so get your money in as soon as possible so payout can be prompt after a winner is decided.

  • 1st Place receives 80% of the pot
2nd Place receives 20% of the pot

  • Submit your ASAP. They tee off pretty early tomorrow morning so try to send your roster to Mike or Mark by this evening.
