sweet 16 bound
The first two rounds of March Madness are complete and we have had some excitement so far. I have said before that it is almost impossible to win Marks Madness before the Sweet 16, but you sure as hell can lose it. That saying is holding true this year, as there are many teams still in play for 1st place or a top-3 finish. There are also several teams that are already dead in the water. Take a look below to see how your doing and figure out which teams you have that will help you leap-frog over the people ahead of you.
Almost perfect
Derek has a small lead, but his roster is just two decisions away from perfection so far. If he took Iowa instead of Utah St and High Point instead of Akron, he would have the maximum 19 wins. Kudos Derek, but there are two teams that are just one win behind and two more team just two wins behind. A lot can still happen, but we have had a great start from several teams.
impossibly bad
On the other end of the spectrum from Derek, is Jared. In his defense, his daughter selected his entire team based on logo prettiness and vibes. However, he has 7 wins, and the lowest total of wins a team could have at this point is 6. The only pick made that was not the absolute worst was taking Vanderbilt. They already lost, but Wisconsin lost a round earlier. I think next year we need to have his daughter submit her picks way in advance and then we head to draftkings and hedge the shit out of those bets. We would be swimming in money. Jess also used the method of letting a kindergartener pick the teams, and she only has 9 wins. I think none of us really know what the hell we are doing, but we are smarter than kindergartners, so well played everybody.
Pickering monopoly
The Pickerings have flooded the market again. It worked out in the playoff fantasy football pool as Jim took that one down, but they are not having great luck with college hoops. 4 of them are in the bottom 7 of the league, and only Larry is in the top 10….coming in at #10 exactly. Not loving their chances getting any money, but love their enthusiasm.
PAYOUTS
We have 21 people playing, so there is $1,050 in the pool. See below for payouts. Take a look at tie-breaker procedures, and if needed I will reach out for a final score prediction.
1st Place (70%) - $735
2nd Place (20%) - $210
3rd Place (10%) - $105

You select one team from each seed in the NCAA March Madness Tournament. You will end up with 16 teams and every time one of your teams gets a win, you get a win. Most wins at the end of March Madness wins the money. Text or email me your squad of 16 teams by Thursday at 12:15 pm.
-
All scoring and tracking will be done by me and can be viewed right here on this site. I will constantly send out links with updated standings. You can also bookmark this page to view at any time.

As I stated before, you select one team from each seed in the tourney. For example, there are four 1-seeds. Duke, Arizona, Michigan and Florida. You can only choose one of those four teams to be a part of your squad. Any time the team you choose gets a win in the tourney, your squad gets a win and the person with the most wins gets the money. Repeat this process for seeds 2-16 and message me your squad.
-
This format does not include the play-in games. If you are making your squad before the play-in games, you can just let me know you want the winner of a certain game for that seed. For example, the 11-seeded NC State plays the 11- seeded Texas in a play-in match. You can let me know you want the winner of that game to be your 11 seed. You can also choose to wait until after the play-in games are completed and can send me your squad before the opening tip-off on Thursday at 12:15pm.

If there is more than one team with the most wins at the end of March Madness, We will follow these tie-breakers in this order:
The person with the team that went the farthest in the tourney. For example, if Team A had their best team make the final four, but team Be had their team win the championship, team B would win the tie-breaker and Team A would finish second.
The person with the most Final Four teams.
If there is still a possibility of a tie, the teams in contention will send me a total score for the national championship game. Whoever is the closest will win the tie-breaker. Price is Right rules do not apply, so you can be over the total and still win if your closest.
If still tied after that, the pot will be split between the top 2 teams.
